Simplifying tech and business process for Not-for-profits

I am passionate about supporting the NFP sector in simplifying their business process and tech architecture so they can focus on what they do best - supporting our communities by providing life saving services. Often complex, poorly integrated legacy IT systems and disparate, incoherent business process drain the limited funds of the NFP and become the underlying root cause of inefficient program delivery and consequently missed outcomes.

I bring twenty years of tech consulting expertise, having consulted for some of the most iconic Australian enterprises in the areas of digital transformation, business process re-engineering, IT road map development, business case development and project discovery and shaping.

I have seen many a large enterprise wide IT transformation program fail and millions of dollars sunk because the complexity of legacy tech architecture and embedded business process was not understood or fully appreciated. I have time and again watched the oft repeated formula of throwing large budgets and flashy external consulting companies at the problem(s) hoping they will miraculously solve the pain points.

Unfortunately, or shall we say fortunately, the NFP sector does not have the kind of funds that ASX listed Australian enterprises have, to enable IT and business process transformation. Yet, they face the same problems as their richer peers. Poorly integrated legacy IT systems and organically compounded- over-time complex business process.

The approach that informs my consulting strategy is to break the complex problem into smaller pieces in order to discover the root cause(s) of poor or inefficient service delivery by the NFP.

Each piece can then be discovered and well understood against the three pillars of people, process and technology. The end result of any IT transformation should be simplification and consequently increased efficiency of service delivery.
